Temporo-Mandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJD) is a condition that occurs when the TMJ is mal-aligned or malfunctioning. Symptoms include headaches, pain in the joint, inability to comfortably open the mouth wide, clicking/popping sounds with opening and closing the mouth. Chiropractic evaluation includes functional assessment of the TMJ and the cervical spine, as well as the related musculature. Chiropractic treatment can be very effective in reducing symptoms, as well as improve function of the joint.
